The Billboard Top 100 included four mostly Spanish songs in 2016, compared with two for 2015. At the peak of Despacito's popularity in 2017 19 songs mostly made in Spanish reached the top 100. It climbed to 41 in 2020. Justin Bieber's bilingual version of Despacito was released in 2017. Soon after, popular artists started collaborating with reggaeton artists. Drake collaborated with Bad Bunny to create MIA (2018), and Madonna collaborated with Maluma for the release of Medellin. Reggaeton's mainstreaming was an issue for some artists by the year 2020. Rauw alejandro and a young generation, however, determined to maintain the style. He used elements from other styles and electronic music.
